In an in vitro test using oral polysaccharides in rats, we observed an inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation, as observed with aspirin, a well-known antiplatelet drug. Polysaccharides from these mushrooms may constitute a new source of compounds with effects on coagulation, platelet aggregation and possibly on thrombosis.
